I rent from Contabo. They rent out Proxmox VMs. 6 Euro/month for 4 cores ( E5-2630 v4 in my case), 8GBs of RAM, 200GB SSD and I think 200Mbit connection

I guess once I get Traefik to work it might just click (and I can move my configs into the future). I just wish Traefik had at least a config generator UI similar to NPM. I just want "this IP on this port with this certificate = https://url.tld, if you get what I mean

GUI that just tells you how it is configured, you can’t configure anything there

NPM vs Traefik?
There have been a few Reddit, Lemmy and Youtube posts over the past week or so about Nginx Proxy Manager and their shortfalls, mostly towards CVEs and other security issues. The problem is that unlike Traefik, NGINX Proxy Manager is actually easy to use. And before you recommend Caddy, that also has no GUI. What do you use, if you have stuff exposed to the outside?
fedilink

If you only use it with your local containers than sure, I have a similar setup myself. But if I try to break from that prison…

Shame NPM is so easy to use compared to Traefik. I just bash my head against the wall if I try to use Traefik for anything but local docker containers. Point it at an external service? I would rather shoot myself

Actually, I would argue the simplest way to self host today is TrueCharts.

The problem is when it breaks, you are SOL because you didn’t build it yourself so you got no clue how it works

I don’t trust myself with Vaultwarden honestly. I will just pay for Bitwarden if I need to.
