I just moved my home assistant docker container to a new-to-me Xeon system. It also runs a couple basically idle tasks/containers, so I threw BOINC at it to put it to good use. All wrapped up with Debian 12 on proxmox…

(I needed USB support for zigbee in ha, and synology yanked driver support from dsm with the latest major version, so ‘let’s just use the new machine’…)

Thank you, I was using another wg image but this is much nicer :D

It would appear that blocking app.posthog.com on the host/network resolves this. But I got the parameter to work, too, as per https://www.usememos.com/docs/advanced-settings/metrics use '--metric=false' and bam, no DNS queries!

I’m planning on doing this, but every 6mo not 1w lol. My upload speed is abysmal as well and I only have absolutely critical things uploaded to off site storage, then I have a full backup locally and physically disconnect it until next backup (to guard against ransomware); am about to get a 20TB drive for this ‘catastrophic event’ backup plan, stored at the bank, just undecided which drive manufacturer to go with.

I figure if the house explodes or something, max 6mo data loss is acceptable vs almost all data loss. And avoids this bandwidth issue.

It took your comment for me to understand that ‘podman’ is not some podcast manager, but a docker competitor.
