Once you turn on your Laptop it should just sync from your phone, no? I don’t really get what the issue here is

I actually bought a similar one with the same CPU. You’re not the first to recommend a mini PC with the N100, so it seems like it was the right choice haha.

I didn’t plan on paying much more than 100€ because it’s replacing my Pi but the one I bought can probably replace both my Pis. I just didn’t think about selling the other Pi as well before.

Actually, I found the Firebat T8 Pro Plus, which has an Intel N100, 16gb LPDDR5 RAM and a 512gb M.2 SSD. It’s more than 5 times faster than the Pi, has AV1 decoding and a power draw of 27W (not TDP, this number is from independent tests). It goes for 146€ on Aliexpress. It’s a little more than 100€ but for what I’m getting here, I think it’s worth it.

Good mini PC for around 100€
My current setup consists of a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4gb RAM and a 1tb external SSD. I'm thinking of getting a used mini PC for around 100€ to replace that tho because it would give me a lot more power and especially RAM (I currently need to use an 8gb swap file). My plan so far is to get a used mini PC that's quiet, has a built-in SSD and at least 8gb of RAM (16 would be better). Because of the built-in SSD, I could also sell the external SSD and buy an 8-12tb HDD instead. Does anyone have recommendations for what mini PC to get or things that I should look out for? Edit: Thanks for all the help! I decided on the Firebat T8 Pro Plus with 16gb RAM and 512gb internal storage because that really seems to be perfect for my use case.

I’d defintely go with an M.2 SSD, you can get 1tb for 50€ and 2tb for 100€ now and they’re much faster, more reliable and take up way less space.

For ML/AI stuff, you might be just fine using an AMD GPU. AMD GPUs are a lot easier to use on Linux and are also a good bit cheaper. I use Fedora with an AMD GPU and I just installed the packages for OpenCL and HIP and now I can run LLMs on my PC using my GPU. I’ve also used Stable Diffusion with that GPU on Linux before. If there’s something specific you want to do regarding that, I’d look up first if you need an Nvidia GPU for that but from my experience AMD GPUs work just fine.

I’d take a look at AMD CPUs again. Last time I checked they were even cheaper (including mobo price) than Intel even though they’re also more efficient (faster and less power draw). Prices might have changed tho. You should probably use a Ryzen 5, a Ryzen 7 will only make sense if you use all cores because game performance is pretty much the same. A Ryzen 3 is more of a budget option tho, I wouldn’t use that. If it’s in your budget, you should also use the newest generation that uses the AM5 socket because you’ll be able to upgrade your CPU without needing a new mobo. I think it also only supports DDR5 RAM, which is more expensive than DDR4. If you use a Ryzen generation that uses the AM4 socket, it’s gonna be cheaper but if you want to upgrade you’ll need a new mobo with AM5 and new DDR5 RAM in addition to the new CPU.

As for Linux distros, my recommendations are Linux Mint if you want something very easy, EndeavourOS if you want something Arch-based or Fedora if you want something that’s not quite as easy as Mint but more up-to-date. I personally use Fedora but I used EndeavourOS before. I detailed why I switched to Fedora in a reply here somewhere.

Is it possible to have a Subsonic server that falls back to the YT Music API when a song isn’t downloaded?
The major thing keeping me from self-hosting my music is that I mostly discover music by using the radio function in ViMusic (Uses the YT Music API to stream music) or by finding a song through friends, social media, etc. and then listening to it in ViMusic to see whether it's good and I want to add it to my playlist. Not having the radio function wouldn't be that big a deal but having to wait for a song to download before being able to listen to it could be very annoying, depending on the situation. So my question is: Is there some way to have a Subsonic server where I'm able to search for any song from a client and have the server stream it from something like YT Music when it's not downloaded?

I have a Raspberry Pi 4 with LibreELEC and Moonlight as a plugin. Streaming from my PC on 1080p with 60 fps and 80 mbit/s works great.

I haven’t found any reason online for not using it either, so I guess I’ll just use that. Free account should be more than enough for me too, no way am I going to send more than 1000 emails a month.

I’ve been thinking about using that as an SMTP relay as well (Because my email server doesn’t have reverse DNS). Would you recommend it?

I use the Piped instance piped.adminforge.de and it works well enough. How popular a video is doesn’t make a difference but sometimes nothing will load for like half an hour or something. That’s fairly rare tho.

I know what it is but I thought its results weren’t that good. I haven’t actually used it myself but that’s what I heard.

What search engines do you use?
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/4448974 > I've recently started using a self hosted SearXNG instance but I'm still using the search engines enabled by default (google, duckduckgo and qwant). What search engines do you have enabled or which ones do you feel you've gotten the best results with?

You need to install a modified web interface (just replace some files on your server) so you get the skip button

I already commented this on another comment here but there’s a plugin for Jellyfin to get intro skipping

You can get intro skipping for Jellyfin too with a plugin. It even works with Findroid, which is a native Android app for Jellyfin. I’ve been using it for a while now (maybe a month or so) and it’s always worked perfectly.
