I have it running. Seems to be working fine.

Getting it up and running was a challenge, but once it’s up it seems stable.

Are you actually chatting with anyone or is that just your authentication?

Something like magic-wormhole (or webwormhole) seems better suited to file transfers, or onetimesecret for shorter chunks of text. Both of which are self hostable.

Just make sure the drives are CMR, not SMR.

There is. It seemed like every time I opened it, either it or the server needed to be updated though.

I’m liking ente for photos at the moment.

immich had too many breaking changes.

I’m pretty young, so I never used floppy before

How do you kids keep getting on my lawn.

Popfile was pretty great. Sadly it was abandoned 8 years ago.

Everyone seems to love immich, but I found the rapid development cycle combined with the version incompatibilities annoying.

Ente is seeming like a nice alternative so far and will hopefully be lower maintenance.

Can you give some more details on the errors you’re seeing? Grub and docker-compose shouldn’t be anywhere near each other.

Cool? I’m seeing $165, but my original comment was based on the article as it existed five months ago. I’m not sure the board was even shipping at that time

Volumio, moode, pijukebox (possibly dead), runeaudio… There are a ton of options.

There’s an app. It’s still pretty early though, so they haven’t put it on any of the stores yet.

Can I ask why tailscale doesn’t work?

I have a headscale instance running in oracle’s free tier and can get to everything else through that.

You jump between 196 and 169 in your comment.

It’s not just Windows that uses 169.254. That’s a special block used for self assigned link-local addresses.

Oracle (super evil, I know) has a free tier that could probably run Vaultwarden and headscale. Email would probably be too much though.

Pi-hole and AdGuard home are both good. It kind of comes down to which UI you like better.

A self hosted Joplin sync server is also pretty nice.

It looks like it’s ~$100. But when I’ve used similar SBCs in the past the issue ends up being drivers. Even if something is faster and better specced than a RasPi, you end up outside that ecosystem with very little in the way of support for whatever oddball hardware your board has.

I think I ended up putting localhost in the *rr web page to connect to qbittorrent.

We all have to start somewhere.

I ended up having better luck with caddy when I needed certs for a vaultwarden container.

I’m running it with docker and don’t remember anything more complicated than docker-compose and forwarding a port.

Assuming you already have a dynamic DNS set up.

Adguard home would also work exactly the same way as pihole for that use case.

I went from KeePass to pass to vaultwarden. Sharing passwords is way easier.
